There is no cellphone coverage up the Mokau River.  This also means that text messaging.  Mokau river is in a valley surrounded by high hills that enable us got get real close to the native trees and birds,

 

 

MV Glenroyal has a marine radio on board which is used for emergency only.  There also several house along the river which the crew can use.

 

For those people who want to use a Cell phone in Mokau township.  The best places is to find a spot where you can see Mt Taranaki.  This happen just south of the river run cafe or the beachfront.

Mokau River Tours operates the MV Glenroyal for all our cruses and trips.  she is the larged ship to on the river for over 60 years.  But some of the ships that operated the river over 100 years ago were over 100 feet kong

She is 50 feet long at the water line.  this gives us lots of space for people and kids

 

13 ft wide.  space for BBQ and tea or coffee on the back desk.

 

Licensed to takes up to 80 people.  Bur we prefer no more that 60 on board at once.   When we first start we made a pledge always sail if someone wants a trip (depending on weather).  But the trips are much better with friends.

 

Sun deck to watch the world go by.   BYO wine if you want. we are allow  upto 18 people up top at once.

Easy access for any age and disability.  We just upgrading or loading ramp so soon it will be possible to roll right onto our ship.  This also means it very safe to load.
